Pendle Hill Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Lower Ogden Reservoir
This evening's Pendle walk started from Barley at 17:07. I had it mind to make an ascent tomorrow (Thursday), but the skies unexpectedly cleared late in the afternoon, bringing the walk forward by a day. It's a pleasant Spring evening.
The Dam
Still Waters
Upper Ogden Reservoir
I'm on a higher path than the usual reservoir track. And stay high, finding a new route to the top
Cat Holes
A deepish hole in the ground, quite uncharacteristic for Pendle Hill. Directly north from here to the summit, following a feint path.
To The Summit
Sun over The Scout Cairn
The little pimple on the fell is the Scout Cairn. A hazy western horizon will deny me a spectacular sunset.
Looking West
Well, we're half way there. Three more months to the longest day of the year. I thought that there would have been more folk about this evening, but it was really rather quiet.
Sundown at 18:15hrs
