Barley Picnic Area
This evening's walk started at 18:50hrs from Barley. You may notice a dark shade in the top right corner - this is smoke from a fire 20+ miles away, more about this later.
Song Thrush
I walked up past Black Moss Lower Reservoir and then between the reservoirs for the route past Windy Harbour Farm.
Foothouse Farm
The building in the centre is Foothouse Farm. The half nearest the camera is for sale at £450,000.
Barley Road
Here, you can see the plume of smoke from the moorland fire on Rishworth Moor, near Huddersfield. The brisk south-easterly wind is sending the smoke to Pendle and beyond.

Walkers: Just Me
Time taken: 2 hours minutes over a distance of about 5 miles.
Route: Barley, Black Moss Lower Reservoir, Salt Pie Farm, Windy Harbour Farm, Barley Road, Steps, Summit, Barley Hill, Barley.
Weather: Sunny with a brisk south-easterly breeze. Cool on top.
