~Pendle Hill~

Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Premature Sunset
The vast bulk of Pendle Hill causes all who lay in her shadow to experience an early sunset. A small price to pay for the huge benefit derived from the prescence of the local favourite. Roadside start at 19:45hrs.
Clouds
Tonight, after a day of heavy showers, is all about the clouds - and I'm hoping for a gap or two to create decent photographs. The lonely cloud in the foreground has cast a shadow on Boulsworth Hill.
Stile and Sunset
Pendle Sunset
Well, not quite sunset, but near enough and maybe the best opportunity this evening.

Looking North-East
It had been 18 days since my last ascent of Pendle, a variety of "excuses" could be offered, but the one that comes to mind is: dull skies. We were just on the "right" side of the weather front last week and had the warm temperatures, but not the sunny skies. Cake without icing!
Walkers: Just Me.
Time taken: 1hr 4mins over a distance of about 2.5 miles.
Route: Roadside, up the steps, summit, down the track.
Weather and conditions: Cool and dry.
Greetings Count: I passed two descenders early on and then a runner dashed past me on the summit. A quiet one.
Richard's Refreshment Review: Not today.
Take me back to the start ....
