Barley
After a busy morning elsewhere, Pendle seemed as good a place as any for an afternoon walk. I started the walk from Barley car park at just after 3pm.
Lower Ogden Reservoir
After a very wet day on Friday, the Lower Ogden by-pass is in full flow and both reservoirs are overflowing.

Walk Views
With time on my side, I walked past the Boar Clough option for the summit - the lone tree in view - and continued up Ogden Clough. The ground is very wet and the path boggy, not ideal.

Walker With Dogs
A man approched with two border collies and a chat about their virtues followed. Both his dogs were rescue dogs and I told him, rather casually, that I'd like to have another border collie. It turned out that he has a friend who is looking to rehouse one such dog, as his work commitments leave the dog with insufficient exercise. Phone numbers were exchanged!
Looking West
Well, no spectacular sunset this evening....

The Steps
My return route was down the steps, across the fields and back to Barley.

Walkers: Just Me.
Time taken: 2hr 35mins over a distance of about 6 miles.
Route: Barley, Ogden Reservoirs, Ogden Clough, The Flags, The Summit, The Steps, fields and back to Barley.
Weather and conditions: Late afternoon sunshine declining to hazy rays through shower clouds. Calm and cool.
Greetings Count: Plenty of folk about early on and then peace and quiet in OC, until I met Gareth and the dogs, runners on top and then another couple with yet another border collie at the stile.
