Courtesy of Messrs Lightfoot, Gillside Farm. For campers, this is a gem - wake up amoung the mountains, listening to the birds, get the boots on and climb Helvellyn ... all before breakfast!

Arriving at Gillside quite late, I chose to have a short walk up to Keldas. For the unknowing, Keldas is the little hill that overlooks Ullswater and Patterdale, situated at the end of the Birkhouse Moor descent. Don't visit Keldas without a camera or an easel.

Rooking
At the foot of the parallel paths to Boredale Hause lies the hamlet of Rooking, here bathed in late evening sunshine.
