~Pendle Hill~

Pendle Summit

Every now and again, the local weather and personal circumstances join forces and the proximity of Pendle Hill makes for an obvious choice for the evening walkies and photo opportunities.

Pit Top Burnley

Bank Hall Pit Top

Blue skies all around for the lunchtime stroll on one of Burnley's green spaces.

Molly Views Pendle
Black Moss

Start time of 17:00hrs from the roadside. Molly recently clocked up her 100th ascent of Pendle and this will be No.102. Whenever I wonder if this is a tad obsessive, I remind myself of the "Troll" from Egremont who used to leave purile messages on this website when such was possible. He is spurring us on! Maybe just now the fool is Trolling someone else....

First-timers

A mixture of three generations makes their first attempt on the steps. Earlier I called for Molly to return to me as she drifted towards the group - the girl in the dark coat turned around and asked me if I wanted her for something. Two Mollys!

Pendle Blue

Pendle Summit

The family group never made it, I regret to say. The problem with such is that it can lead to a fear of failure, my advice is to bring supplies, allow plenty of time and take rests. Most folk can reach the top of Lancashire's favourite fell.

Just for a change, let's let another doggie steal the show. Mister was trying to get a photo of Sid on the trig and I nipped in to take this photo.

Pendle Sunset

~~~
We spent a very pleasant 40 minutes or so on the top, no wind, not cold and good views all around.
Molly and I up the steps and back down the same way - 1hr and 40 minutes.
