Barley Car Park
£1 for cars and this is one I don't mind paying for. Local facility for local people, all visitors welcome. Toilets and cafe (!) see later.
Houses
I took the footpath in an easterly direction past the old houses to White Hough and then up the hill to Stang Top Moor.
Up to Stang Top

Stang Top Cottage

Lower Black Moss Reservoir
Levels are dropping, pack away your hosepipes.
Windy Harbour Farm
Pendle Hill
The Stile
I found the views from the top to be as good as I can remember. I could see the outline of Lakeland Fells, the Yorkshire Peaks, Malham Cove, Blackpool Tower, a feint outline of Welsh mountains - ditto the northern Peak District and the aspect to the east was just as good where there are no big hills to identify, but a vast horizon.

Pendle and The Steps

And just as it was three months ago....

Who remembers The Bee?
Barley Picnic Spot
A longer version of a Pendle Hill ascent, back in time for a brew at the cafe on the car park.
Walkers: Just Me
Time taken: 2hrs 50mins over about 6 miles.
Route: Barley to White Hough, Stang Top Moor, Black Moss Reservoirs; Windy Harbour Farm; Pendle ascent via the steps; across the top and down the flank to Lower Ogden Reservoir and back down the track to Barley.
Weather and conditions: Coolish and sunny, a bit breezy on top. Excellent visibilty in all directions.
Greetings Count: No one until the main ascent and then then a few afternoon wanderers.
Richard's Refreshment Review: Nothing to report, because just as I entered the car park, the cafe was locked and the proprietor walked away - at 4:15pm. Unhappy me.
