Pendle Ascent

The Steps

This disappointing September continues. I chose tonight for a Pendle walk as it might not get any better later in the week; on the other hand, it might, we'll have to wait and see. It's grey and overcast.

Pendle Runner

Pendle Runner

"Autumn's Here!" called the runner. Technically, he's a day early; practically he could have said the same thing three weeks ago.

I briefly wondered about what might happen in the next thirty minutes. If the sun dropped into that gap in the clouds, the sky would come alive. But, I've hung around before and things haven't always worked out, so I didn't linger.

Pendle Ladies

Pendle Ladies

The lady in black passed me as I climbed the steps, she was on her way down, so she has climbed back up - straight up the front. The young lass in red has run up the track. Blimey!

Missed Opportunity

Bugger! The eastern sky is illuminated by direct sunshine, patience would have paid off on this occasion. On the way home, I took the next photo. It was one of those sunsets that lights up the whole of the sky, as the sun peeps under an otherwise cloudy sky and paints the scene an orangey/pinky colour.
